Lisa Pretus, Esq. is an experienced healthcare transactional, regulatory, and business lawyer and the Managing Member of The Pretus Law Group. Ms. Pretus’ multi-state law practice focuses on the representation of physicians, hospitals, and other commercial entities in a wide range of transactional and regulatory matters. She possesses extensive expertise in a wide variety of corporate and healthcare areas, with substantial experience in general healthcare law, physician employment, recruitment, reimbursement issues, mergers & acquisitions, corporate compliance, and the development of joint ventures in connection with urgent care centers, ancillary services, hospitals, and freestanding emergency rooms. She also has deep experience in risk management, and corporate law, having worked in a variety of corporate settings for over a decade, and provides general-counsel-level services to a number of her clients.
Ms. Pretus is particularly experienced in providing strategic planning and advice to healthcare clients seeking to build and develop new business ventures, including standing-up new healthcare entities, concierge clinics, and telemedicine services. Her interests also include health information systems, and she has extensive experience helping clients commercialize healthcare software and navigate the legal and regulatory issues related to such systems and the data they contain.
Ms. Pretus received her B.A. with Special Honors in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and her J.D. from Louisiana State University. Ms. Pretus is also a trained commercial mediator certified by the American Health Lawyers Association. With more than 15 years of experience, she is rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell®.
